card for exchange student

card that I made for our exchange as he left for his home. I love this kiwi and the whole NZ theme. the Aotearoa is a wooden embelishment and works well here.

Farewell card to Sean

this is the card the card that my great-grand-son made to farewell our exchange student (Sean)
He found the green shape and said it looked like a skateboard, and as Sean liked skateboarding great-grand-son put it on the card for him. He then put the yellow pompom on and drew legs and feet onto the 'skateboard'. He added the green pompom for a head and although you cant see them, he added 'google eyes'. He then added the flower at the top as it is 'shiny like the sun'. He wrote 'Sean' inside the card and put some kisses.
not too bad for a 'little one'. We wish Sean well in the future.

I enjoyed making these cards and matching envelopes.

I quite like the colours of them too. A little change from 'green trees'

Indigo - blessings to you.

Our little bit to help Indigo.

This is our donation box as we collected for Indigo. We made these lovely Christmas cards and gave the money to help Indigo and her family.
the pink box was made using the Cricut Expression2, the teddy bear from Teddy Bear Parade Cart. The stars and embelishments on the Christmas cards were also cut using the Cricut Expression2.

Our South Island Travel

hi all, it has been a while since I have been on my blog so thought it was time to update! I have been busy with lovely people who come to card classes and we have made some lovely cards. Working on some Christmas projects now.
Flo, Raine and I went to Christchurch to 'The Great NZ Craft Show' - the weather was lovely, however the show was quite quiet. We had a number of ladies book into our Cricut Teaching Evenings and made some great friends. Christchurch now has a 'Cricut Group' and we wish them all the best getting together and learning from each other. It never fails to amaze me how talented people are!
Unfortunately Raine had to fly back to her family. Flo and I continued on and headed for Dunedin. We stopped in Oamaru at the Top 10 Holiday Park for the night. What absolutely lovely people who run it and we had a lovely room. Flo and I had a spa and fell into very comfy beds and fell asleep. Next day headed off to Dunedin. I was told it was hilly but my goodness it is HILLY!!! Again we met some lovely people and had a nice time. The Great NZ Craft Show was again quite quiet and as both Flo and I had gotten colds we decided to pack up and head home. We drove back to Christchurch and spent one day there. From Christchurch to Dunedin and back again the spring bulbs were blooming everywhere and it was sooo great to see them and know that Spring was here. A big big thanks to my son who lent us a lovely car with GPS and all mod-cons to drive around in. Not sure what we would have done without that car!! He was kind enough to take us to the airport and we flew home in beautiful weather.
To those who bought Cricut machines from us at the shows, thank you.  Flo and I look forward to seeing what you create with them.
Back home - and some of the ladies have asked me to make some 'little critters' from the 'create a critter' cartridge, for them to put on cards, so I am busy making them over the next couple of days. will put some pics up when I have done them. Also have a lovely Christmas Card for October Thursday class.
Well it is time for me to get busy again so will take some pics of what we have been doing and post on here later.
take care and keep well.
Love that you follow my blog and would love for you to pass it on.
Blessings,
Madge

cards for men

special card - engagement, wedding, invitation - can be used for lots of occassions.
I enjoyed doing these 'male' cards. I enjoyed doing the green shirt one, and think that the black and white one would be great for a graduation, or even a 'card to the groom' - the white oval on the right would have a sentiment stamped on it.
All 3 cards are quite quick to make. hope you enjoy them.

Easter treats for daughter

Have made these Easter treats for my daughter overseas. They are from the Close to my Heart treat tubes. Have put some tiny Easter eggs in them with a tiny chicken. Have used paua paper to decorate and also popped some NZ kiwi stickers on as she was feeling a wee bit homesick. Again those 'critter' cartridges are in my Cricut!! just absolutely love them.

Easter Treats for Grandson

Easter treats for my grandson who is overseas:

I used the 'treat tubes' from 'Close to my Heart' and put 3 little easter eggs and a tiny chick in each tube. Again using the 'critter' cartridge for the birdie (looks close enough to a chicken!) on the front. On the back I have attached packs of Liquorish as my grandson LOVES it and cannot get it where he is living at the moment.
had to add a couple of wee stickers just to remind him that he is still a New Zealander!!

Young lady's birthday party

For a young lady's 12th birthday party she wanted to have her friend 'make a card'. She looked at some of mine and decided that she would have them make a 'pop-up' card. 14 young ladies came to make their cards and what fun it was. They were very good and did some excellent crafting. I had the pieces cut out, they 'sponged' the sky and decorated the pieces, putting the bag and shoes together and making the pop-up.

these are two of their cards. well done girls.

A Simply Brilliant Idea

Madge's Creations is my sister and I don't generally do a post for her but she had an incredible idea and deserves the credit for this. As you will have seen she has been making owls from the StampinUp Owl punch (and does a great job with her cards) BUT those tiny circles that are used for the pupils pop everywhere and at times we find ourselves punching them 4 or 5 times before we can get them under control and where we want them. This was such a great idea, I videoed Madge doing what she does to keep those little punched pieces under control. This could be used for all your little punches to make those punched pieces easier to find and control. Well done Madge from Flo's-a-Scrapin. Madge would love to know if this idea has helped you so leave a comment on her blog or the video on youtube.

hearts and beads decoration

One of the ladies who come to Cricut Craft Club nights showed us how to make this. She had made some in white cardstock which looked really lovely handing on the Christmas tree. I thought that it would make a lovely decoration to hang and one could even tie a friendship / engaement / eternity ring on the bottom. Just a thought!! It is made from hearts cut out and threaded on fine line and a bow at the top. not a very good pic sorry. My beads are blue and white to match the cardstock.
